Skin care is one of the four pillars of Anti Aging

Anti-Aging Photo Lifting & Rejuvenation

Who doesn’t want glowing, tight, youthful skin? Skin care is, after all, one of the four pillars of anti-aging.

Our baby boomer clients at Aura Wellness Spa really think about skin care. By the way, there are now 79 million baby boomers in the U.S. You know, they were the ones who were born in the years 1946 to 1964.

But you know what? You should be thinking about it no matter what your age and whether you’re Gen X, Gen Y or Gen Z, because the skin aging process actually begins in our 20’s. As we get older, cells don’t turnover as fast, elasticity and moisture lessens, and the skin takes longer to heal itself. So when we don’t take care of our skin—whether it’s smoking, drinking to excess, or being less-than-thoughtful about skin care products, it accelerates the aging process even more.

There’s also some research that suggests skin actually ages itself, because all skin contains an enzyme called Arnox that produces free radicals and everyone has it.

So how do you fight it? Well, a good place to start is with regular facials. The combination of deep-pore cleansing, re-balancing masks, pressure-point facial massage and hydrating lotions will automatically make you feel lighter and brighter. Each one is different and some are better for certain skin types than others.

Every facial, though, begins with a consultation so our therapist will be able to recommend the best technique for you.

But did you know there are other things you can do in regard to skin anti-aging?

At Aura Wellness Spa, we even have a special skin treatment that uses a series of lights to stimulate collagen and eliminate bacteria. We call it Photo Lifting and Rejuvenation.

It uses a gentle, LED, light-based technology to treat brown spots, broken capillaries, and boosting collagen.

Our photo lifting and rejuvenation skin treatment is a good choice for people who want to boost collagen or treat acne. The light’s collagen-boosting, facial rejuvenation effects have been proven with medical research. While the results won’t be as dramatic as plastic surgery, it’s a gentler, more natural, less expensive way to go—and there will be a skin lifting effect afterwards.

Our LED photo facial is a very gentle treatment that uses narrow spectrum light to boost collagen, which creates plumper, younger-looking skin ,or to kill the bacteria that causes acne. It’s painless, cool and relaxing, and carries no risk of burning. It can be very effective, but the best results come after a series of photo facial treatments—and, of course, good at-home care. To begin, a series of six treatments, every one-to two weeks, is recommended. After that, maintain with a treatment every month or two. It can be part of a facial or used as a stand-alone treatment.

You need to also ask about Brightening, which targets discoloration and premature aging. It’s an effective facial that revitalizes tired skin, reduces pigmentation, firms & brightens skin.

We also have Lactic Resurfacer, a gentle milk-derived peel that delivers fabulous results for smoothing out fine lines and large pores, regenerating mature, sun-damaged skin and lightening scars. It’s great for sensitive and acne types and it’s most effective with a series of 4 – 6 treatments over 3-4 months.

There is another light technology, IPL, is used by medical offices. It’s stronger, less gentle and can even be a little painful—but it’s important that you’re clear on the differences so that you’ll get the results you’ll expect.
